New Enterprise Build Environments - Ubuntu 14.04, Trusty

We’re super excited to announce new build environments available for Travis CI Enterprise 🎉 These are the stable images used for Trusty container-based on Travis CI Hosted and are up-to-date with the latest tools and features.

Upgrading Build Environments

The new build environments are supported on Travis CI Enterprise installations at version 2.1.9 or later (here’s how to upgrade your Travis CI Enterprise Platform instance). The worker will also need to be installed on a different instance than the legacy Precise build environment workers, but the process is very similar. Full installation docs can be found here: docs.travis-ci.com/user/enterprise/trusty

After upgrading your Travis CI Enterprise installation, builds that should be routed to the new build environments will need to have a dist: trusty in their .travis.yml. From there, everything should be good to go.

Of course, if you have any questions or feedback about upgrading, please get in touch at enterprise@travis-ci.com. We’d love to help out!

Support for Legacy Precise Build Environments

Although we encourage everyone to upgrade to the new build environments, we certainly understand these things take time. We’re planning to fully support the legacy (Precise) build environments for the next six months, though we will not update the images. You may update or customize them yourself, if you would like. Please let us know if you have any concerns on this process.

Thank You to Build Environment Beta Testers

Last of all, all of us on the Travis CI Enterprise Team wants to send a big shout-out to our Trusty Build Environment beta testers. Thank you for your help and input! 💖
